Apocalypse Radar by Noland

Privacy policy

Effective October 14, 2026. This policy covers the Apocalypse Radar by Noland Android app from Noland Software LLC.

Who we are

Apocalypse Radar by Noland is an Android app made by Noland Software LLC, a Texas limited liability company. Questions about this policy go to support@nolandsoftwarellc.com.

No account, no selling of data

The app has no sign-in and no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, or location. We do not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising.

Data we collect

Crash data (Firebase Crashlytics). When the app crashes, and while Crash reports is on (the default), the app sends a crash report: the stack trace, app version, phone model, Android version, and a few short log lines about what the app was doing. If Automatic bug reports is also on (the default), the app sends a similar report when something fails without crashing, such as a data source that does not respond or a feed that cannot be read. Reports use a random installation ID, not your name or email.

Optional anonymous analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase). While Usage stats is on (the default), the app sends anonymous usage stats: which screens are opened and a few actions such as refreshing, opening a category, adding the widget, or changing alert settings. They use a random app-instance ID. The advertising ID is not collected and ad personalization is off.

Bug reports you send. Report a bug in Settings lets you type a description. If you tap Send, the description, app version, and (if Include device info is checked) your phone model and Android version go to Firebase Crashlytics. If you choose email, your email app opens a message to support@nolandsoftwarellc.com with those details filled in, and you decide whether to send it. We use bug reports only to fix problems.

What stays on your phone

Downloaded headlines, threat levels, your alert settings, and simple counters used to decide when to ask for a Google Play review are stored only on your phone. Settings, Clear cached data removes the saved feeds. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

Public data the app downloads

To build the dashboard, your phone downloads public data straight from sources such as USGS, NASA/JPL, NOAA, NWS, WHO, CDC, GDELT, FEMA, DHS, CISA, and the U.S. Department of State. Those requests carry nothing about you beyond what any web request carries, such as your IP address, which each source handles under its own policy.

Third parties

Crash reports, bug reports, usage stats, and remote app settings are processed for us by Google Firebase (Crashlytics, Analytics, and Remote Config) under Google's Firebase terms and privacy policy. If you installed from Google Play, Google Play may show its review prompt and offer updates. We use no ad networks and no other third parties.

How to opt out

  • Open the app and tap the gear icon on the main screen to open Settings.
  • Turn off Crash reports to stop crash reports and automatic bug reports.
  • Turn off Automatic bug reports to keep crash reports but stop reports for errors that do not crash the app.
  • Turn off Usage stats to stop anonymous analytics.

Each switch takes effect right away. To ask us to delete reports already sent, email support@nolandsoftwarellc.com.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear in the app and on this page with a new effective date.
